Sling TV is an internet video service that lets you stream live and on-demand TV from channels including TNT, TBS, AMC, ESPN, Disney, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, with prices starting at $20 per month.

The service launched for select devices earlier this year and subscribers can watch videos using mobile apps for PC or Mac, iOS or Android, or on devices including the Amazon Fire TV, Roku and Xbox One.

And now you can watch Sling TV on a Nexus Player or other Android TV devices.

Sling is also partnering with Google on a Nexus Player promotion: Pre-pay for 3 months of service and you can get a Google Nexus Player for 50 percent off the normal list price of $99.

If you’ve already got a Nexus Player (or another supported device) you can sign up for a 7-day free trial to test the service.

Sling TV offers an interesting proposition for cord-cutters: $20 per month is a lot cheaper than a typical cable or satellite TV package. But you get a fairly limited set of channels for the base fee. If you  want to add HBO, additional sports, movie, news, or Spanish language channels, the prices go up.

You’ll also need a broadband internet connection to use Sling TV, so the price of entry is really $20 + your broadband bill. Since many people already get their internet service from the same company that provides their TV service in a 2-in-1 bundle, it’s not clear if Sling TV will always be the cheapest option.
