The Asus VivoWatch is a smartwatch with fitness tracking features and a promise of up to 10 days of battery life.

Asus unveiled the VivoWatch in April, and now it looks like you can buy one for a little over $200… if you don’t mind buying a smartwatch from an eBay store that will ship the device straight from Taiwan.

No major North American retailers are offering the VivoWatch yet.

The VivoWatch is the second smartwatch from Asus. The first is the Asus ZenWatch, which features Google’s Android Wear software.

Unlike the ZenWatch, the VivoWatch lacks support for third-party apps. But it offers longer battery life, features an IP67-rated water and dust-resistant case, and a stainless steel frame.

Other features include a hear rate sensor, pedometer, brightness sensor, and Bluetooth.

For the most part, the ZenWatch can do everything the VivoWatch does and more… it just does it for less time. Like most devices that run Google’s Android Wear software, the ZenWatch gets around a day or two of run time between charges.

It’s possible that the VivoWatch will be cheaper if and when it officially goes on sale in the US. But if you want to be one of the first to get your hands (or wrists) on the watch, I suppose it’s nice to have the option to bu one from Taiwan.

  1. Time is money. Well, it should be, in the article.

“… it just does it for less time.”

    1. The point is that the ZenWatch gets 1-2 days of battery life, while the VivoWatch is said to get up to 10.

In other words: the ZenWatch does everything the VivoWatch does and more. But it craps out after less time.
