Want to add support for live TV broadcasts to your Xbox One game console? Microsoft just added support for USB TV tuners, and the company specifically recommends picking up a Hauppauge WinTV-955Q which normally sells for $80. But right now you can snag one for $62 from B&H.

That’s just a few bucks more than the $60 TV Tuner Hauppauge and Microsoft plan to launch later this year.

Don’t have an Xbox One? You can still use the TV tuner to stream live over-the-air broadcasts to a computer or other supported device. Add free software like MediaPortal or MythTV and you can even use your computer as a DVR.

  1. Its too freaking bad Microsoft wont make a media center extender app for the XBOX one (like whats available on the 360) so I don’t need this at all. Been waiting for 2 years now.

  2. “Computer” does not equal “Windows”. Since Windows is the only computer type supported, it’s not available for Mac or Linux. For the millions that run those two, it’s not applicable. Try to do the research please.

    1. But many article will quote PC and MAC, PC stand for personal computer. Even boxes in the back of games or software will say PC or MAC. Just saying…those aren’t referring to Linux when they listed compatible with PC.
