You know those fancy new USB Type-C connectors Apple and Google are using in their new laptops? They’re not just for laptops.
China’s LeTV has just unveiled a series of smartphones that also have USB Type-C. The LeTV One, One Pro, and Max all feature the new connectors… as well as some other pretty nifty specs.
USB Type-C lets you use same port for charging, connecting storage, or hooking up an external display. And USB Type-C cables are reversible: there’s no way to insert the charging cable upside down.
But that’s not the only thing that makes LeTV’s phones special.
All three models feature at least 3GB of RAM, 64-bit processors, and Android 5.0 software. And as expected, they feature super-slim side bezels.
The LeTV One has a 1920 x 1080 pixel display, a Mediatek Helio X10 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB to 64GB of storage, a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera, 802.11ac WiFi, an IR port, and a 3000 mAh battery. It’s a dual SIM phone that should be available soon for 1499 yuan (about $240) and up.
The LeTV One Pro has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 2560 x 1440 pixel display, 32GB to 64GB of storage, and a 4MP “Ultrapixel” front-facing camera. this model should sell for 2499 yuan ($400) and up.
The top-of-the-line model is the LeTV Max, which has a 6.3 inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel display, a Snapdragon 810 CPU, 64GB to 128GB of storage, a 21MP rear camera and 4MP Ultrapixel front camera, a fingerprint reader, and a 3400 mAh battery. Pricing for this model hasn’t been announced yet.
Hmm, now if only it had stockish Android and a promise of support for 2 years or so. I keep looking at my oneplus one and thinking there’s nothing out atm to replace that aspect, except a nexus 6 or more likely its successor if I want things like 4GB of RAM and a 64bit CPU.
Ascend Mate, Dell logo.
Bring it to the USA/Verizon and I’ll buy it. The standard riffraff won’t do what this LeTV will.
Looks awesome
