Most major US wireless carriers have been selling the Google Nexus 6 smartphone for months, but there’s been one holdout… until now. Verizon has announced that it will begin selling the 6 inch smartphone March 12th for $250 when customers sign a 2-year contract or for $27.08 per month when they use the Verizon Edge program.

Oh yeah, the Verizon Nexus 6 will also ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop… no waiting for an over-the-air software updated required.

Update: The Nexus 6 is now available for purchase from Verizon.

Google Nexus 6

The Nexus 6 is a pretty stellar phone for folks that don’t mind the fact that it might not fit in their pockets or be easy to use with one hand.

It features a 2560 x 1440 pixel AMOLED display, a 2.7 GHz Qualcomm SNapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 13MP rear camera, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, 4G LTE, and a 3200mAh battery plus Qi wireless charging support and a Turbo Charger that provides up to 6 hours of run time from a 15 minute charge.

Among other features, the Verizon model will support HD Voice calling which also enables support for using voice and data simultaneously on Verizon’s network (something you can’t do with standard calling).

If you buy the phone by March 31st you’ll also be eligible for a free 6-month subscription to Google Play Music All Access.

However, any news on whether or not the bootloader is unlocked?
