The Apple Watch can do a lot of things… but how long can it do them for? About 18 hours.
Apple says that’s how much battery life you should get out of its first smartwatch. Assuming you sleep at least 6 hours a day, that means you should be able to get “all-day” battery life… but it also means you’re going to have to charge an Apple Watch every day.
It is easy to charge the watch — just bring the magnetic charger near the back of the watch and it’ll automatically click into place.
Update: Wondering just how that 18 hours of typical use breaks down? Check the watch 90 times, get 90 notifications, use apps for about 45 minutes, and workout while listening to music for about 30 minutes and you should get about 18 hours.
Want to listen to music non-stop? It’ll run for about 6.5 hours.
The Apple Watch goes up for pre-order on April 10th, and launches on April 24th.
One-day of battery life not good enough for you? Pebble’s smartwatches get 7 to 10 days of battery life. A number of Android Wear models get 2 days of run time.
UP TO 18 hours. Please note that! And after 2-3 years of daily charging, this battery will be dead. But never mind.
18 hours with typical use, Hmmmm, typical, hmmmm. So a little bit more use than typical which is undefined, would result in less than 18 hours and not see you through the day.
my 10 yr old timex sportswatch runs about 5 years with one charge is water tight and was a lot cheaper.oh yea .. and does not need an expensive secondary phone device.
Yeah, but your ten dollar Timex watch doesn’t make you feel like you are better than everyone else.
18 hours of battery life with a new battery. How long with an old one ?
That’s a bad joke.
