GravityBox is a tool that lets you alter the behavior of your Android phone or tablet in a number of ways. Want to add options to the Quick Settings or power menu, skip tracks in the music player using your phone’s volume buttons, or add a snooze button to heads up notifications? GravityBox lets you do those things… plus a whole lot more.
You’ll need a rooted phone with the Xposed framework installed in order to use GravityBox… but now that Xposed supports Android 5.0 Lollipop, the developer behind GravityBox has updated it to support Lollipop as well.
In a nutshell, GravityBox takes many features that would otherwise only be available if you installed a custom ROM and lets you use them with an AOSP-based ROM or the stock Android software that came with your device (if you can still call it stock after rooting and installing Xposed).
The first release of GravityBox for Android 5.0 Lollipop is still an alpha, which means that it may not be entirely stable and there are some features that were available for Android 4.4 and earlier which haven’t yet been updated to work with Lollipop. But the software does offer many options for altering the behavior of your device’s status bar, lock screen, navigation bar, notifications, the recents menu, along with other performance, navigation, and menu tweaks.
You can find out more about GravityBox for Android 5.0 in the developer’s thread at xda-developers (make sure to read the compatibility section before installing GravityBox), or check out more screenshots at imgur, courtesy of redditor Tyrannosaurus-WRX.
