The Asus Zenbook UX305 is a thin and light laptop that measures about 0.5 inches thick and weighs about 2.6 pounds. It’s powered by an Intel Core M Broadwell processor, offers up to 10 hours of battery life, and has a high-resolution 13 inch display.

Asus introduced the Zenbook UX305 last September, showed it off at CES in January, and now the company has announced that it’s available in the US for $699 and up.

That price will get you a model with a 1920 x 1080 pixel matte IPS display, but Asus will offer an optional 3200 x 1800 pixel glossy touchscreen display option in the future.

The ZenBook UX305 features 8GB of RAM and a 256GB solid state drive. It has dual-band 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 and features three USB 3.0 ports, a micro HDMI port, and an SD card reader.

Each model has an Intel Core M-5Y10 processor, 802.11n WiFi Bluetooth 4.0, a micro HDMI port, three USB 3.0 ports, an SDXC cardreader, and support for Ethernet with an external adapter cable.

While the press release doesn’t make any mention of it, the last time I saw the Zenbook UX305 it also featured passive cooling, which means there were no noisy fans inside the case.

  1. Link to Asus product page now dead. Cant see this model in their list…

    1. The T300 looked like a great product, until I read the part that says the keyboard connects to the tablet using Bluetooth. Blagh. Not even slightly slightly interested.

      1. That is concerning. I hate when I get triple keystrokes using a bluetooth keyboard. But if it works properly, then bluetooth has its advantages, since you don’t have to be tethered. Also, I could use the keyboard/touchpad with my FireTV Stick.

  2. Looks nice, I wonder how upgradable it is. I know the memory and SSD are probably stuck on there, but I would want an AC WiFi card on there.

    1. According to reports from European sources (they had it before the US did) the SSD is replaceable, but the RAM is soldered in. Not sure about the WiFi card.

  3. This is definitely up my alley. I’m the kind of person that has always wanted an Ultrabook, but paying over $1000 isn’t going to happen. I was planning on waiting to see some good prices on the outgoing Haswell Asus Zenbooks, but this actually sounds better to me.

    1. You might want to also check out the new Dell XPS 13 as well. It’s a 13″ ultrabook that’s the size of an 11″. I think it starts around $800. But this Asus appears to be a bit better value.

      1. Yeh, the XPS 13 looks nice. But I don’t really need that much CPU. The i3 is the only thing that you’re paying extra for in the Dell.
