Sony is refreshing its line of wearables with a new version of the SmartWatch 3 that’s decked out in stainless steel and a new fitness device called the Smart B-Trainer.
SmartWatch 3
The Sony SmartWatch 3 is an Android Wear watch with a 1.6 inch, 320 x 320 pixel display, a waterproof design, and GPS.
At CES, Sony introduced a new model that has a stainless strap for a classier look than the plastic models that had been available up until now.
The new stainless steel model should be available in February.
Sony will also offer a Smartwatch Holder that lets you pair a SmartWatch 3 with a range of wrist straps.
Sony Smart B-Trainer
This wearable prototype is a fitness tracker built into a set of headphones.
You can use it to listen to music while you’re on a run, but it also features multiple sensors for tracking your stats as you move. Then the B-Trainer can provide you with spoken feedback to provide voice coaching during your run or workout.
Would be cool if the Smart B trainer had bluetooth onboard and also the option for pass-through audio, so you would be able to hear stuff around you without taking the headset off (which could be a bit inconvenient while you’re riding a bike). Oh, and as with everything else, it would be nice if it had microSD;-)
