The Saygus V² starts taking pre-orders for its $600 superphoneis a smartphone with a 5 inch full HD screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and other specs you’d expect from a high-end phone including 802.11ac WiFi, wireless charging, and a big battery.

But the phone also has a few really surprising features: there are 2 microSD card slots for a total of up to 320GB of storage (including built-in storage). There’s a 21MP rear camera and a 13MP front-facing camera, and both have auto-focus and optical image stabilization.

Saygus showed off prototypes of the V² smartphone at the Consumer Electronics Show. Now the company is taking pre-orders.

Early birds can reserve a phone for $549 starting at 2:00PM Eastern time on Thursday, January 29th, 2015. The price will go up to $599 at some point in the future — and the discounted price will only be available to folks who pre-order.

Saygus says folks who pre-order will also be able to get limited edition accessories.

The smartphone supports GSM cellular networks, has 3GB of RAM, 64GB of built-in storage, features a dedicated camera button, a 3100mAh battery, an IR transmitter, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC as well as a fingerprint reader.

There are stereo front-facing speakers with Harman Kardon sound and the phone has a case made with kevlar, brushed aluminum, and fiberglass.

The latst prototypes of the Saygus  V² run Android 4.4 Kit and come with root pre-enabled, as well as support for booting from a microSD card if you want to multi-boot more than one operating system.

  1. Or you could buy the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro with 4GB or RAM, higher resolution display, a newer processor and no microSD, but 64GB eMMC, lower resolution but still a good quality camera and for less money. Oh, and a company behind it that releases software updates every week and already proved delivered for the past few years…

  2. If I hadn’t just bought a phone I would be all over this! This SEEMS to be my dream phone.

  3. VERY tempting. Eeeexcept for the current transition to 64-bit…
Also with an unknown company I’d be worried about updates and bug fixes. By the time reviews are out and we see if they offer proper support the chipset will be somewhat outdated (though the rest will still be top notch). If they act accordingly with this generation I could maybe be convinced to buy the next one =)

  4. I’d buy an 8″ or 10″ tablet version with that spec and a similar price, plz.
