Chinese tablet maker Pipo has introduced a new Windows tablet with a full HD display, an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor, and a keyboard cover that lets you use the system like a notebook.

Low-cost Windows tablets are a dime a dozen these days, but the Pipo Work W3F really doesn’t cost all that many dimes: It’s available from AliExpress for about $190 and up.

The tablet features an Intel Atom Z3735F quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 1920 x 1200 pixel IPS display, and a 7800mAh battery.

It has two full-sized USB 3.0 ports, and a micro USB port as well as a micro SD card slot. There’s a 5MP camera on the back and a 2MP front-facing camera.

There’s a WiFi-only model with 32GB of storage and a 3G version that has 64GB of storage. Both ship with Windows 8.1 and Microsoft Office 365 software.

  1. …Still desperately waiting for specs like these paired with 4gb of ram.

  2. the listings I’m seeing do not explicitly state that the cover is included with the tablet. if I could be sure the keyboard/cover was included at this price, I’d probably give it a shot

edit: looks like its $227 for wifi with keyboard cover.

  3. I’d take the USB 3 claim with a pinch of salt as it’s not nativly supported by the Atoms.

    1. Could be a third party controller but I guess we won’t know until someone tests it.

Would seem out of place though for a ‘budget’ tablet

      1. Just checked the datasheet and it seems the SoC does support 1 USB 3 port but as a device only.

        1. Bay Trail introduced native USB 3 support to the ATOM, but it’s optional for the OEM to use it and only supports one port…

While the upcoming Braswell update is suppose to increase support up to 4 USB 3.0… but that won’t apply to tablets because by design they’re kept to at best one of each port type… but means they should finally start phasing out the 2.0 ports…

    2. It’s not unusual for docking tablets. The original Asus T100 has a USB 3.0 port in the dock

    3. It’s usb 2.0 in the W3F sadly, the Pipo W3 first version does have it as the Z3775D supports usb 3 I believe.
