The makers of the Narrative Clip lifelogger are working on a new model with a better camera and the ability to upload your photos via WiFi or Bluetooth.

Like the original Narrative Clip, the new Clip 2 is a wearable device that you can clip to your shirt to snap photos every 30 seconds throughout your day. But the new model should snap better photos, and allow you to save them more easily.

The Clip 2 should be available later this year for $199, and you won’t need a paid subscription to upload and share your photos — the company plans to switch to a freemium model where basic services are free and premium options (which haven’t yet been announced) will cost extra.

The new model has an 8MP camera with a wider angle lens which should help ensure that you get fewer uninteresting photos — because let’s face it, the biggest problem with a camera that snaps pictures of whatever’s right in front of you is that sometimes they’re not pointing at anything at all.

Since there’s support for WiFi and Bluetooth, you won’t need to connect your Clip 2 to a PC to upload or save photos anymore — but you will still need to plug it in to a power source,  since the wireless features would quickly drain the battery otherwise.

The new model does have more than twice the battery capacity of the original though, and it also has a new gyroscopic sensor.

  1. i want one haha, even for private moments, it just takes photos, it doesnt instantly upload them!

  2. Well what if you are doing something… Private? I don’t know why you would want to document everything you do unless you have memory problems

    1. Personally? I have a hard time writing reports or tracking progress with things because I don’t really remember what I’ve done over a week. If you can track it, you can be aware of it and change it.
