The Lenovo ThinkPad X250 is a notebook with a 12.5 inch full HD display, an optional touchscreen, and an Intel Broadwell processor.

It’s also pretty compact, measuring about 0.8 inches thick and weighing less than 3 pounds. But Lenovo offers some pretty interesting options including a dual-battery for up to 96 Wh of capacity.

The ThinkPad X250 will be available with hard drive or solid state storage options, an optional touchscreen, and up to 8GB of RAM.

Other features include 2 USB 3.0 ports, mini Display Port, and a VGA port. The laptop has Lenovo’s TrackPoint system with a touchpad and pointing stick.

Prices are expected to start at $1149, but if you want a model with dual batteries, a fast processor, and other premium options, you’ll likely have to pay a bit more.

  1. Does it still only use a single SODIMM (no dual channel memory) for the max 8 GB of RAM? The X230 and I think X220 can have up to 16 GB of RAM using 2 SODIMMs (makes use of dual channel memory for faster memory bandwidth).

Also, I wonder if Lenovo’s going to stay with the ULV CPUs instead of bringing back the more powerful standard voltage CPUs.

At least they brought back the physical trackpoint buttons but if they kept the gimped memory and CPU choices then I’ll probably skip on the X250 like I skipped the X240.

    1. According to other sites, yes, it’s stupidly only single-slot, single-channel. So the performance will take a big hit, not to mention forced early obsolescence due to the ridiculously low 8GB limit.

    2. The X250 is a gimped piece of garbage. 8GB is not enough and single channel memory makes having the improved GPU a complete waste. I cannot give them my money.
