Want to use your iPad to remotely control your PC? Google’s Chrome Remote Desktop app is now available for iPhone and iPad.
The free app is available from the App Store, and it lets you use a mobile device to login to just about any Windows or Mac computer that has the Chrome browser installed.
First you’ll need to install the Chrome Remote Desktop app for the Chrome browser on the computer you want to control. Then just go through the setup process, create a PIN, and you can fire up the mobile app to login to your computer.
While the remote desktop function is built into a browser add-on, it lets you control more than just a browser. You have full access to the operating system, so you can use an iPad to login to your computer, find a document you need, open an email app, and send it to yourself, for example. Or you can surf the web using Firefox or another browser to view web content that might not otherwise be available on an iPad (I’m looking at you, Flash).
Google released an Android version of the Chrome Remote Desktop last year, and you can also use Chrome Remote Desktop to control one computer from another computer by firing up the Chrome web app in your browser.

I’ve been using Chrome Remote Desktop for a few months now. It works very well, except that full-screen applications are not visible, and audio is not transmitted.
I switched back to Team Viewer a few days ago. The differences are superficial, with the exception of audio working in Teamviewer.
