Archos is bringing a new line of smartphones and tablets to the Consumer Electronics Show, including the Archos 50 Diamond smartphone will will sell for under $200 and the Archos 80b Helium tablet which will run $150 or less.

Both devices feature support for 4G wireless networks.

The Archos 50 Diamond smartphone has a 5 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS display, an 8-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. It also has a 16MP camera.

Archos says it’s the best 4G smartphone available for under $200, and while that’s probably open for debate, the specs do look pretty good for a phone in this price range.

The company hasn’t shared as man details about its new tablets yet, but the Archos 80b Helium 4G features a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and an 8 inch screen.

  1. HOLY CRAP! If these guys can bang out stuff like this (I’d trust the Archos brand (French) a lot more than some of the other Chinese crap brands out there) then why can’t Canadian BlackBerry do something like this too? Not kidding…if they had a phone with these specs at a decent price and looked like that, people would go nuts. Hell, I might finally go Android.

    1. Nope. Zero LTE coverage in the USA with those frequencies. 3G on AT&T’s 850MHz band, where available. That is it for anything other than 2G.

Such a shame too. Decent specs, Dual SIM, just no useful LTE bands for the North American markets.
