Microsoft is bringing some of its core apps for Windows and Windows Phone to Android and iOS. The new MSN apps for News, Weather, Sports, Money, Health & Fitness, and Food & Drink apps are now available in the App Store, Google Play Store, and Amazon Appstore.

msn cross platform

The apps stay synchronized with your Microsoft Account, which means that you can check stock prices on your Windows PC and then see quotes for the same stocks on your phone, for instance. Enter favorite weather locations on your Android phone and you’ll be able to see forecasts for the same places on your iPad.

The apps look pretty similar no matter which platform you’re using them on, but there are some features that have been designed specifically for certain platforms. For example, the Health & Fitness app for iOS taps into Apple’s HealthKit software to let you count steps using an iPhone.

  1. I wouldn’t touch anything from M$ not even with a 10 foot pole.

    No thanx.

    1. I don’t get how Microsoft is seen in a different light then Google or Apple. All of their business models have their questionable aspects. At one point I saw Google in a more positive light than the others, but that no longer is really accurate.
