LG’s Tab Book line of products straddle the line between Windows notebooks and tablets. Some of those machines feature built-in keyboards that slide out from behind the display. But the new Tab Book Duo is a standalone tablet with a built-in kickstand and a Bluetooth keyboard.

The Tab Book Duo launches this week in Korea, where it sells for 740,000 Won, or about $640 US.

The tablet features a 10.1 inch mulitouch IPS display, a micro HDMI port, a USB 3.0 port, and Windows 8.1 software.

LG says the Tab Book Duo has an Intel quad-core processor and supports up to 11 hours of battery life. It’s not clear which Intel chip the system uses, but the long battery life estimate suggests that the tablet could have either an Intel Bay Trail or Intel Core M Broadwell low-power processor.

The tablet weighs about 1.2 pounds, while the tablet and keyboard combined weigh in at about 1.75 pounds, making the 2-in-1 a bit heavy for a tablet, but pretty light for a notebook.

  1. I need an ipad competitor from these slackers make it 3:2 aspect ratio like surface pro 3 make it 10.3 inch make it thin, thin bezels too and light with a Bluetooth keyboard case it must be a TABLET first

  2. It’d be nice if an 8″ Windows 8 tablet comes out with a slideout keyboard. Even if it’s cramp, I’d definitely buy it. Even better if it has a trackpoint.

Too bad I’m sure I’m only part of a small group who’d want it. Then again, I see quite a few people using flappy unstable keyboard attachments on 8″ tablets.
