  1. Any info or experience with the Best Buy generic tablet? What’s going on there? Do we know if it is rebranded as anything else at other retailers?

What I’m really looking for is a sub-$200 win8 tablet with USB3, but I think I may be too optimistic. As is, HDMI out and 2gig of memory isn’t bad for this price range. Unless the performance isn’t too hot.

  2. Kinda frustrating how none of the deals I’m interested in ships to Hungary… Anyone willing to do a mail forward? 🙂

    1. Alot of online shops might still give you trouble. I shop from Canada, and I usually have stuff shipped to a Parcel pickup service (about 2 minutes over the border), and I drive to pick it up.

I have noticed this year that none of the major stores are wanting to sell to non-US billing addresses. The shipping address is fine, but my Visa’s billing address causes an issue with them.

For example, Best Buy typically accommodates me by allowing a US shipping address, and Canadian billing address. I tried to order a laptop this morning, and within 2 mins they cancelled my order.

      1. I’ve noticed retailers here in the US are becoming more strict now. I guess there’s been a lot of credit card fraud going around. Especially after all those credit card information getting stolen from retailers being hacked.

        1. That’s not the case here. Their website still provides instructions for non-US residents to buy things using a non-US billing address, combined with a US shipping address.

Today they seem to be just manually cancelling orders.

          1. I’m going to guess they’re going manual because they can’t update their site in time/properly. If they’re not manually cancelling valid orders due to possible false fraud alarms then it could be due to issues with high traffic. There are reports of Best Buy’s and other retailer’s sites breaking due to high traffic. Maybe these sites haven’t been fully fixed yet.

        2. Yup, tried it with MyUS, couldn’t complete the order. Well, at least I have healthcare here…
