Jawbone has two new fitness trackers. One is a cheap clip-style device that you can attach to a belt, pocket or shirt to count your steps and sync your data with a phone. The other is a premium wristband with sensors to track steps, skin temperature, heart rate, and more.

Both should be available this year.

Jawbone UP3

The $180 Jawbone UP3 is an activity tracker that’s priced like a smartwatch. But it’s also one of the most advanced fitness trackers around, with sensors for monitoring physical activity, sleep quality, and more.

The UP3 can keep track of your resting heart rate, skin and ambient temperatures, heart rate, and respiration and it even has sensors to help monitor your sleep quality by figuring out when you’re in REM, light. or deep sleep.

Jawbone says the UP3 battery should be good for up to 7 days at a time and takes 100 minutes to fully charge using a magnetic USB charging cable.

The device has an anodized aluminum body and it looks more like a bracelet than a watch: there’s no screen, but there are three single-color LED lights. Orange shows activity, white is used for notifcations, and the blue one covers sleep (although I’m not sure how you’re supposed to see the blue one).

You can go swimming while wearing the UP3. It’s water resistant up to 10 meters (almost 33 feet).

The device syncs with your iPhone or Android device over Bluetooth 4.0.

Jawbone will begin selling the UP3 later this year. Or you can still pick up the slightly-less versatile Jawbone UP24 for $130. That model is splash-resistant rather than water-proof, lacks a heart sensor or “advanced” sleep monitoring, but comes in more colors and offers up to 14 days of battery life.

Jawbone UP Move

The UP Move doesn’t do as much… and looks a bit less like a fashion accessory. But this little device can track your steps and monitor your sleep quality for up to 6 mnonths using a CR2032 watch-style battery.

It connects to your phone over Bluetooth 4.0 and synchronizes data with the Jawbone UP app, sports 12 white LEDs for the “Smart Coach” system to let you know how close you are to meeting your daily fitness goals, and blue and orange LEDs for other notifications.

The UP Move has an aluminum and rubber body and features a rubber clip and/or watch strap that you can use to wear the device. Jawbone says it’s splash-resistant, but doesn’t recommend submerging the UP Move in water.
