The Hisense Vidaa Pad is an Android tablet that measures just 6.35mm, or 0.25 inches thick. That’s a little thicker than we were initially led to believe, but the tablet is almost as thin as an iPad Air 2… but the Vidaa Pad is a lot cheaper than Apple’s $500 tablet.
If you’re in China, you can pre-order the Hisense Vidaa Pad from JD.com for about $163.
Now that the tablet’s up for pre-order, we also have a better idea of what’s under the hood, including:
- Rockchip RK3288 quad-core processor
- 2GB of RAM
- 16GB of storage
- 8MP rear camera with auto-focus and 2MP front camera
- 4400mAh battery
The tablet has an iPad mini-like 7.85 inch, 2048 x 1536 pixel IPS display and it runs Android 4.4 KitKat software.
On paper, the Vidaa Pad looks like pretty attractive, and Hisense has a history of offering decent quality tablets at good prices. But there’s no word on whether this model will be made available outside of China.

another site says this weighs 320 grams
I just ordered the refurbished Sero 8 is from Neweggflash for $86 w/ free shipping. I really wanted the Sero 8 Pro. I too messaged Hisense USA on Facebook but they said the 8 Pro is a UK only model and no plans to bring it to North America.
What does it weigh?
3 of these or 1 apple…..you do the Math…(and this has better specs,,and an sd card slot which apple obviously doesn’t know how to produce…
I actually messaged Hisense USA on Facebook and they said the US is getting this tablet in May 2015 at Best Buy and Walmart. Was hoping it was gonna be released before the holidays, now I have to get something else.
That looks like a great tablet for the money.
