Sony’s PlayStation TV basically takes the guts of a PS Vita and sticks it into a $99 box that you can plug into your TV to play games on a big screen.
But the folks at Gametech figured out there’s another way you can use the Vita: hook it up to a portable screen with gaming buttons and use it like a PS Vita… but bigger.
The DekaVita 7 features a 7 inch display, HDMI, USB, and power adapters, and all the buttons you’ll need for gaming.
Gametch plans to bring the DekaVita 7 to market in the spring of 2015, but Japanese customers can pre-order one this month for 19,800 yen (about $172). The price will eventually go up to 23,000 yen (about $200).
The DekaVita 7 has a 1024 x 600 pixel IPS display with 175 degree viewing angles, a battery to let you play games on the go, and support for doing most things you can do with a PS TV including streaming internet video, playing select Vita games, and streaming PlayStation games from a console connected to your network.
