Amazon may have raised the price of a Prime membership to $99 this year, but the company keeps tacking on new features.

Amazon Prime used to just be a $79 per year service that would get you free 2-day shipping on select items. Now it also includes access to a large library of streaming movies and TV shows, music, and eBooks. And starting today members can use Prime Photos which offers unlimited cloud storage for your photos.

The idea is that you can then view your photos on nearly any device. But it’s also a handy tool for saving backups of your pictures so you won’t lose them if you lose your phone or computer.

Amazon Prime Photos lets you upload photos from an Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, or Amazon Fire device.

If you’re not a Prime member you can still upload some photos. Amazon provides 5GB of cloud storage for free.

The mobile apps have an auto-save option that will automatically upload new photos as you take them, while the desktop app lets you drag and drop photos from your hard drive to upload them.

Once photos are uploaded you can share them via email, send them to Facebook or other apps, or just view your photos on pretty much any device with a web browser by visiting Amazon.com/CloudDrive.

There are plenty of other services that let you backup and share your photos. What’s interesting about Amazon Prime Photos is that it offers unlimited storage for Prime members, along with support for RAW image files, among other things.
