ZTE recently launched the ZTE ZMAX smartphone with a big screen, a big battery and a small prices. Now the company has an new phone with an even bigger screen, a slightly smaller battery, and a smaller price.

The ZTE Grand XMAX is a 6 inch Android phone with a 3200mAh battery and a $200 price tag. It’s available exclusively in the US from pre-paid wireless carrier Cricket Wireless.

The smartphone features a 6 inch, 1280 x 720 pixel display, a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. It’s not exactly a superphone.

But it does provide a big screen, a large battery, and up to 6.5 hours of talk time at an affordable price.

Other features include an 8MP rear camera, a 1MP front camera, support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology, Android 4.4 KitKat software, and support for 802.11n WiFi and Cricket’s 3G wireless network.

If you’ve got a little extra money to spare and don’t mind using T-Mobile’s network, the $252 ZTE ZMAX might still be a better option. It has a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU, 16GB of storage, and support for both 3G and 4G LTE. That model also has a smaller 5.7 inch, 720p display and a larger 3400mAh battery.

Still, it’s nice to have some affordable options for phablets.

  1. Headline has the number 6 in the wrong place. Makes headline even more confusing. $200,000 XMAX 6 is inch phone from Cricket.

  2. Hah, I initially read “$200 Grand” and thought “$200,000”, as in another diamond-and-platinum phone. Then I saw “Cricket” and decided that probably wasn’t the case….

      1. Whoops… I was trying to figure out the best place to put the $200 while keeping the headline short. I might have chosen the wrong place. ๐Ÿ™‚
