Zero Devices plans to launch one of the first TV box/mini PC devices featuring Allwinner’s new 8-core processor. The Zero Devices Z8C sports an Allwinner A80 processor, support for USB 3.0, HDMI and SPDIF output, and more.
The Allwinner A80 processor features 4 ARM Cortex-A15 CPU cores, 4 ARM Cortex-A7 cores, and PowerVR G6230 graphics with support for OpenGL ES 3.0.
We’ve seen tablets featuring this processor, but the Z8C could be one of the first set-top-boxes with an A80 chip.
Other features of the device include Gigabit Ethernet, USB and micro USB ports, an SD card slot, and WiFi.
There’s no word on the price or release date. But initial benchmark results suggest the Z8C could be one of the faster TV boxes to ship with Google Android software. It’ll also be one of the few with Gigabit Ethernet and USB 3.0 support.

Why bother with the price of a NUC so cheap!!!
below 90 us$ it’s a good deal. cheapes NUC is 135 on Amazon barebone. 2gb ram is another 23 and you already at 160$. So it is all in the pricing.
NUC still need an OS, Ram and SDD/HDD and you end up with $250 at least.
But on a NUC you can run “normal” Linux, not arm compiled Linux, you have 3d acceleration, video hw playback. It’s less complicated IMHO…. but you’ll have to pay the price
Its a pain to set up, those box work out of box. I dont have 30hours to set up my tv
