As expected, Lenovo is adding a 13 inch tablet to its line of Yoga tablets. The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro features a 13 inch, 2560 x 1600 pixel display, an Intel Atom Z3745 Bay Trail processor, a built-in hinge for standing the tablet up, and JBL 2.1 channel speakers with a 5W subwoofer.

Oh yeah, there’s also a projector built into the hinge, which lets you shine content on a screen ceiling, or other surface.

The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro is available for purchase for $500.

The Android 4.4 tablet has a 9600mAh battery for up to 15 hours of battery life, but Lenovo says the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro was designed for use around the home. While a tablet with a 13 inch screen isn’t as portable as some mobile devices, Lenovo found that many people are using tablets primarily in their own homes, where a larger screen would be appreciated.

Other features include dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI output, an 8MP rear camera, and 1.6MP front-facing camera.

The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of solid state storage and a microSD card slot, and the system measures 0.5 inches thick and weighs 2.1 pounds.

Lenovo has also introduced new 8 inch and 10 inch Yoga tablets running Android and Windows software. Some of those models are now available for $250 and up.

Note that we’ve also seen clues suggesting there’ll be a Windows version of the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro, but Lenovo hasn’t officially made any announcements about that model yet.

  1. Why would they cripple such an awesome device with an Atom processor and 2gb RAM? Give us a Core i3 version with 4gb RAM please…

Switch 11 looking better all the time…. $50 cheaper than this Lenovo and includes keyboard, has 4gb RAM, 128gb SSD, Core i3.

    1. Where have you seen pricing for the i5 variant of $450? I’d be very surprised at that. Also it’s an apples/oranges thing. The 11 is a smaller screen with lower resolution and it looks thicker – edge tube of the Lenovo aside.
That said I’d like a cheaper variant without the projector.
I’m not interesting in a Windows laptop or tablet at any rate.

      1. The Windows version of this is 699. 699-50=649, the price for the i3 1080p Switch 11.
For some reason the 13 inch Windows version is not showing on the Lenovo website, only 8 and 10 in are there.

          1. Look again, the one on the right is the Yogo 2 Pro laptop!

If not clear enough, that’s the only Core version you’re going to see!

Again, you’re not going to get anything higher than a Core M in a thin & light fan-less tablet, which is why they went with the Bay Trail SoCs!

As soon as you go Core i-anything you’d need active cooling or a much larger tablet design and larger batteries to provide enough run time…

Surface Pro 3, for example, has a Core i3 option and it still needs active cooling…

Tablet’s tend to be pricier than laptops as well, which is another reason not to compare to the Switch 11, never mind the premium you’d have to pay for a Core range product compared to a mobile range SoC….
