Dell Latitude 13 2-in-1 tablet with Intel Core M coming soon

10/23/2014 at 9:48 AM by Brad Linder 5 Comments

The Dell Latitude 13 7000 Series is a 2-in-1 ultrabook with a detachable display which you can use as a tablet. It’s powered by an Intel Core M Broadwell processor, and Dell introduced the business-friendly notebook/tablet in September.

Dell says the Latitude 13 7000 Series should be available by the end of October, and the folks at Notebook Italia got a chance to check one out in person at an event in Italy this week.

The Latitude 13 7000 Series features a 13.3 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS touchscreen display, Intel HD 5300 graphics, and a 30Whr battery in the tablet as well as an optional 20 Whr battery in the keyboard base.

Dell will offer models with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of solid state storage. Other options for enterprise customers include 4G and HSPA+ connectivity, a SmartCard reader, fingerprint reader, and NFC. There’s also an option for an active stylus, and even the 8MP rear camera is optional.

Each model has a 2MP front-facing camera, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, 2 USB 3.0 ports, a docking connector, Sd card reader, and a backlit keyboard.

The 2-in-1 notebook is expected to sell for $1199 and up.

Aaah, the 2-in-1 product that costs more than two separate devices. Like the Nexus 6 which costs more than the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 combined. Product convergence is good, but you can’t charge a high premium for it.
Core-M looks like a great tablet chip… put it into a light 9-10inch tablet and put Nvidia and Apple to shame… and do it at the $500 price point.

If the keyboard is like the 11 inch venue pro, it will suck on anything but a desk.

This looks good, except for the $1199 price tag. Ouch!!! It’s just another overpriced Ultrabook trying to pretend it’s a MacBook Air.

Lol, this thing is just way better than a macbook air and has no resemblence of an macbook air and things like ultrabooks existed before the macbook air. You just dont seem to see its actual value and because of that you would make such a dumb comparision as with an macbook^^

You want to compare it to something, then do it, with the MS Surface Pro3 for example. Answer, when Apple makes the first product with a digitizer.
