Acer offers a line of low-cost Android tablets with 7 inch screens. While there are a few different models, Acer confusingly sells all these tablets under Iconia One name. Go figure.
Anyway, there are a few Iconia One 7 models with Intel Atom Z2560 Clover Trail+ dual-core processors and prices ranging from $90 to $140.
Now it looks like Acer is getting ready to launch new models featuring faster Intel Atom Z3735G quad-core Bay Trail chips.
The new models will still be sold under the Iconia One 7 name, but they’ll have model numbers starting with B1-750. Tablets with Clover Trail+ chips have model numbers starting with B1-730.
Acer also offers a B1-720 tablet with a MediaTek ARM-based processor, but that model isn’t part of the One family.
While the new model has a speedier processor, it’s still very much a budget tablet that sells for about 100 Euros. It’ll probably sell for around $100 to $150 in the US.
It features a 7 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB to 16GB of storage, plus a microSD card slot. The tablet has a 5MP rear camera with auto-focus, and a 0.3MP front-facing camera. The tablet features 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth.
