Splashtop is expanding its suite of screen sharing, mirroring, and remote desktop apps with new features for Chrome OS that allow users to share content between a Chromebook and other devices.
The company’s focusing on the education market by building the new features into its Splashtop Classroom and Mirroring360 apps.
Splashtop Classroom already lets teachers send apps and other content to students’ Chromebooks, iPads, or Android tablets as well as Windows or Mac computers. But the latest update adds support for streaming audio and cloud storage.
The Mirroring360 service launched this summer, letting teachers wirelessly stream content from an iOS device to a projector through a PC or Mac. Now Mirroring360 is adding support for Chromebooks.
This adds support for Chromebook support for screen mirroring, video streaming, and more.
Used together, the Splashtop Classroom and Mirroring360 apps are designed to let teachers share content with a projector or with students’ Chromebooks or to let individual students share content with a teacher or the whole classroom.
