Motorola’s been showing off its Android Wear watch with a sleek, round design for months. Now it’s finally going on sale.
The Moto 360 is available from purchase for $250Â from the Google Play Store, Best Buy, or Motorola.
You’ll be able to pick up the watch from Motorola, the Google Play Store, or Best Buy. It should be available in additional countries including Canada and the UK this fall, and if you’re not a fan of the leather wrist strap Motorola plans to offer models with silver or black metal straps this fall for $300.
The watch features a 1.56 inch, 320 x 290 pixel display with Corning’s scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 3. While the display is round, there’s a small black bezel cutting off the bottom of the circle, which helps keep the rest of the bezel thin. Note that LG’s round smartwatch doesn’t have that line… but it has a much thicker bezel.
The Moto 360Â also has a TI OMAP 3 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and Bluetooth 4.0 for pairing with a smartphone. It has a 320mAh battery which Motorola says is good for all-day battery life (although some early reviewers beg to differ).
This watch is also one of the first Android Wear devices to feature wireless charging. It comes with a Qi wireless charging dock that you can place the watch on to recharge the battery.
Built-in sensors include a pedometer and optical heart-rate monitor, and the watch is IP67 water resistant. It has a vibration motor for alerts, and dual microphones for using voice features.
Motorola offers 3 color options at launch:
- Light stainless steel case and gray leather band
- Light stainless steel case and stone leather band
- Dark stainless steel case and black leather band.
The smartwatch also comes with 6-pre-loaded watch faces so you can choose from a digital clock or several analog-style clocks.
Looks like the Moto 360 site is getting hammered right now. Demand may be really heavy for this smartwatch.

Well at least as a UK resident I can wait for reviews, supposedly coming out here in October.
The LG G watch R looks like a better buy
I was very interested in this watch until they said battery life was 1 day.
Early reviewers state it is even less.
TI OMAP 3 + 512 MB Ram reminds me of my old Palm Pre plus I played with last Sunday.
