Bluetooth keyboards for mobile devices are a dime a dozen… but that doesn’t mean you want to buy a dozen different keyboards for all your phones and tablets. Logitech has an interesting alternative: a Multi-device keyboard designed to work with up to 3 different devices.

The Logitech K480 multi-device keyboard is now available for $50.

The keyboard has can pair with up to 3 different devices and there’s a 3-way dial above the row of Fn keys which lets you quickly switch from one device to the next.

That way you can pair the Logitech K480 with a phone, a tablet, and a PC and quickly switch from writing on one device to another. For example you could be using the keyboard with your desktop computer when a text message arrives on your phone. Flip the dial to your phone setting, tap out a response, and then flip back to PC mode to pick up where you left off.

There’s a groove in the keyboard that’s big enough to even let you use it as a stand for more than one device: you can prop up your your tablet and phone side-by-side… assuming neither device is too large.

Logitech says the keyboard supports Windows 7 and later, OS X, Android 3.2 and later, and iOS 5 and later although it might work with other operating systems that support Bluetooth keyboards as well. There are keys that change function depending on the operating system though: In Windows the Start button is to the left of the Alt key, while in OS X the Alt Opt key is to the left of a Cmd button.

The keyboard comes in black or white.

  1. Like a couple of people above I’ve got the K810 which is the sexyist keyboard known to man. Similar idea to this one but without the stand part. It does have backlit keys though that fade out after you stop using it for a while and an ambient light sensor to control the backlight brightness.
Best of all is that it has a capacitive sensor that turns on the backlight when you move your hand close to the keyboard.
    Sexy as hell!!!!

  2. How does it charge up? USB, microUSB? what size battery does it have? Enquirying minds need to know.

  3. Like Nighty, I also have the K810 and it also supports 3 Bluetooth devices, switching via Fn+F1, F2, or F3. It works great with a Windows 8 PC, Macbook Pro, and a Toshiba Android tablet. Very handy. If I didn’t already have the K810 I’d pick this up.

  4. Almost tempting but I already bought the k810 for the same price. (No built in stand though).

  5. If they also had an option for a USB connection I would buy in a heartbeat.
