Jams Music Player is an Android app for… playing music. It’s got a few nifty features including a 9-band equalizer, the ability to download album art from the internet, unofficial support for streaming music from Google Play Music, and a rather attractive user interface that seems inspired by Google’s new Android L Material design language.
Unfortunately the developer doesn’t have as much time to work on the app as he used to, so he’s removed the app from the Google Play Store.
Fortunately he’s released the source code for anyone that wants to compile their own build or continue development of the app.

While Jams creator Saravan Pantham plans to continue working on the project at a slower pace, turning Jams into an open source project will let other developers contribute to the app or fork it to create their own apps based on his work.
Other features from the latest build include support for 2 different themes with 9 different color schemes, support for crossfades with custom durations, ID3v3 tag editing, and support for sorting by album, artist, tag, or folder.
