Two of HP’s first computers to feature Intel’s low-power Core M Broadwell processors will be 2-in-1 tablets. As expected, the company is launching a new line of Envy x2 notebooks with 13.3 and 15.6 inch displays and Intel Core 5y10 M processors.

The 13 inch model should be available October 29th for $1050 and up, while the 15 inch version is expected to launch November 5th for $950 and up.

Both models feature a fabric-covered, backlit Bluetooth keyboard that lets you use the tablets as notebooks. The tablets also feature Beats Audio.

The HP Envy x2 15 supports up to 500GB of hybrid hard drive storage, while the HP Envy x2 13 will be available with up to 256GB of solid state storage.

HP’s press release doesn’t provide detailed specs, but the images show stereo front-facing speakers and a loop in the keyboard section which looks like it’d be a good place to store a stylus or digital pen… which suggests that at least some models could have active digitizers for pen input.

It’s good to see HP offering tablets with Intel’s new energy efficient Core M processor… but it’d be even nicer to see the chip used in a more compact package. Laptops with 13.3 and 15.6 inch displays might be quite popular… but I’m not sure there’s much need for a detachable tablet that large.
