The Acer Aspire Switch 10 is a 2-in-1 Windows tablet with an Intel Bay Trail processor and a keyboard dock that lets you use the system like a notebook. It earns the Switch name not only by letting you not only switch between notebook and tablet modes, but also because you can flip the screen around so it faces the keyboard of faces away from it.

I reviewed the Switch 10 recently and found it to be a pretty nice affordable portable Windows computer. But it certainly has some limitations.

Now it looks like Acer is planning to address some of those limits by offering new models with more storage, a higher-resolution display, or a lower price.

The original Switch 10 features an Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core processor, a 10 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, at least 32GB of storage, and a 5910mAh battery.

Here are some of the other models that have begun showing up at online stores:

While Acer doesn’t have an individual product page for the model with a full HD display yet, the main Switch 10 page mentions the 1920 x 1200 pixel screen and several European retailers have product pages for this model.

Meanwhile, Acer hasn’t announced pricing for the Switch 10 with an Atom Z3735F CPU yet, but that processor is a cheaper, less powerful Intel Bay Trail processor which suggests this model is a lower-cost alternative.

  1. All I have to say about the HDD dock- is that Acer better sell that separately aswell-(at a decent price) for those of us who have purchased this tablet/ are going to purchase it.
If they don’t sell these docks separately so users can mix and match tablets& docks I could see them losing customers on this product. Myself included.
    But, what do I know..

P.S. Any word on the release of these newer tablet combinations??

  2. Anyone else had trouble with rotation? It does not want to auto rotate, whatever position it starts up in, it stays in. Wouldn’t be a big deal to me but this is my Aunt’s first tablet and she isn’t very computer literate.

  3. No option for a second battery? For me, that was biggest drawback of the Switch. Next was the storage. The resolution wasn’t issue at all for me.
