Maingear is now offering a thin and light notebook aimed at gamers. The Maingear Pulse 15 has a high-resolution 15.6 inch display, an Intel Core i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and NVIDIA graphics but the notebook measures just 0.75 inches thick and weighs about 4 pounds.
Those specs don’t come cheap though: prices start at $2199.
If all of that sounds kind of familiar, that’s because the Maingear Pulse 15 seems to be pretty much the same laptop as the Origin EVO15-S. It just has a different name slapped on it.
The Maingear Pulse 15 features a 2880 x 1620 pixel display, an Intel Core i7-4710HQ Haswell processor, and NVIDiA GeForce GTX 870M graphics.
It has a 1TB hard drive and a 128GB solid state drive, 2.1 channel speakers, and a 5400mAh battery. The notebook comes with an external DVD burner although you can save a few bucks by opting for no optical disc drive.
The Windows laptop is also available with additional options including larger SSDs and an external Blu-ray burner. The notebook is also available in a variety of colors — but anything other than black brushed aluminum will cost you at least $199 extra.
