Every year Google works with a device maker to offer a new phone for developers and enthusiasts as part of its Nexus lineup. These phones ship with Google’s stock Android software, receive software updates directly from Google, and tend to feature some of the latest tech to showcase exactly what Google thinks an Android phone could and should be.

This year it looks like Google may be working with Motorola on a Nexus phone with a 5.9 inch display. I’ll probably hang onto my Nexus 5.

  1. Dear , Google how about a new phone with expandable memory? Just to shake things up. (The reason I did not get the Nexus 5)

  2. Motorola? This phone will create a device with unimpressive specs with a mediocre screen res.
That will be sad and a big mistake. Googles Nexus has led the way in cutting edge price performance. Without Googles leadership I fear this will be a real bad year for Android.

  3. I wonder what the timescale on these devices is, I mean the moto 360 is rumoured to be launching with one of motorola’s own devices, maybe the X+1, maybe the nexus 6. Really though who knows, all I know is my ideal spec combination hasn’t come up yet, and indeed I’ll only be able to find second best until snapdragon 810 and other A5x designs are out.

    1. Those specs would only be relevant if there was desktop class software for 64 bit mobile processors, in my opinion.

  4. Does the i3 C720 have the same lock protect screw so it can boot into the SeaBIOS by default?

  5. Showcase exactly what Google things an Android phone could and should be — I think you mean “thinks” not things.
