The LG G3 smartphone is a top tier device with a 5.5 inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, and power and volume buttons on the back of the case.
LG’s new G3 Beat looks like a slightly smaller version of the phone… but it lacks many of the bigger version’s most impressive features.
The new LG G3 Beat has a 5 inch, 1280 x 720 pixel display and a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, making it a solidly mid-range phone. Still, it’s refreshing to see a company release a smaller, less powerful version of its flagship phone without calling it a “mini” when it has a screen that’s nearly as big.
LG’s G3 Beat does have a few things going for it including a fairly large 3540mAh battery, Android 4.4 KitKat software, 4G LTE and HSPA+ support, and LG specific features including a camera with laser auto-focus.
Other features include 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot, WiFI, Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS. It has an 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front-facing camera.
The phone launches in South Korea on July 18th and will becgin rolling out in Europe in the coming weeks.
Why not get an LG G2 instead?
