A new wireless carrier plans to open its doors on July 4th. At first glance ROK Mobile looks like yet-another MVNO, or mobile virtual network operator such as Straight Talk, Boost Mobile, or Republic Wireless.

But in addition to offering unlimited talk, text, and data ROK Mobile will also include access to a Spotify-like music-on-demand service.

Subscribers will get access to 20-million songs which they can stream at any time without signing up for a plan with a separate company. Unfortunately it’s not clear yet if the plan will be any cheaper than simply signing up for Straight Talk and Spotify or Google Play All Access separately: ROK Mobile hasn’t announced its pricing plans yet.

ROK Mobile’s music service will let you search and play for songs, stream playlists, and download music to your device for offline playback. Eventually the company will also offer a web app so you can stream music from a PC when you don’t want to use your phone.

While the company plans to offer a downloadable music app and a 14-day free trial, you’ll have to sign up for the ROK Mobile cellular service if you want to keep using the music service after the free trial ends.
