Parallels launched an iPad app that lets you remote control a PC from your tablet last year. Now the company is adding support for smartphones with the launch of Parallels Access for Android and iPhone.
You can use the mobile app to remote control a Mac or Windows computer while using a touch-friendly user interface shrunk down to phone-sized proportions.
The latest version of Parallels Access also brings new features including Facebook login integration, the ability to use your phone or tablet’s mic as an input device for PC apps, and Android users can also add icons for desktop apps to their Android home screen,
Parallels Access apps are available to try for free, but if you want to keep using the apps after 14 days you’ll need to pony up some cash for a subscription. Plans start at $20 for 1 year or $35 for 2 years (although there’s a limited-time promotion that lets you snag 2 years for $30).
Parallels is hardly the first company to offer remote desktop software for mobile devices. PocketCloud, TeamViewer, and Google Chrome Remote Desktop all offer free software, SplashTop and LogMein offer premium solutions, and you can also use VNC clients to login to many machines.
But Parallels has a strong reputation, at least among Mac users, thanks to its virtualization software which lets you run Windows or other operating systems in a virtual environment on a Mac. The company’s new remote desktop solution may be an option for folks looking for a premium solution.
I’am looking forward for anydesk for iPad in Somerset days…
Hopefully the app is much better than the ad…
There are a zillion ways to remote into a PC or Mac from an iPad already. We need more ways to go the opposite direction.
No kidding. Label this post as advertisement, not article.
Go to bed. He writes about new tech, and this is new tech from this company for mobile computers. Brad’s written about most of the other remote-access apps as well. So go pester another website.
