HP is refreshing its HP Split x2 ultrabook. The system gets its “Split” name from the detachable 13.3 inch Windows tablet which acts as the laptop display when you connect it to a keyboard dock.

The new HP Split x2 comes with a choice of Bay Trail, Core i3, and Core i5 processors, with prices starting at $600 for a model with a Bay Trail processor.

HP will offer the Split x2 with up to 500GB of storage and up to 8GB of RAM.

The tablet measures just over half an inch thick, and when you attach the keyboard you still have a notebook that’s less than 0.9 inches thick. There’s an extra battery in the keyboard dock which should also help you get longer battery life when using the system as a notebook than you would in tablet mode.

The new HP Split x2 has a fanless design, and it should be available int he US in late June for $600 and up.

Or you can buy one of the current models now. The HP Split x2 is already available with a Core i5-4202Y processor and 128GB SSD for $750 and up.
