HP is launching 3 new business laptops powered by AMD Kaveri mobile chips. The new line of HP EliteBook 700 Series notebooks feature 12.5 inch to 15.6 inch displays, AMD Pro A6 to AMD Pro A10 processors, and Radeon graphics.

Not a fan of AMD chips? No problem. HP also has a line of EliteBook 700 Series notebooks with Intel chips coming in August.

The smallest model in the lineup features a 12.5 inch display, measures 12.2″ x 8.5″ x 0.8″ and weighs 3 pounds. Configured with a touchscreen the laptop is a little thicker and heavier at 3.4 pounds and 1 inch thick.

HP will offer a range of configuration options, but each model has a spill-resistant backlit keyboard, 2 USB 3.0 ports and 1 USB 2.0 port, DisplayPort and VGA ports, an Ethernet jack, docking connector, and headset jack. The system is also MIL-SPEC 810G tested for endurance under a range of conditions.

Processor options include an AMD Pro A6-7050B dual-core chip, AMD Pro A8-7150B quad-core processor, or AMD Pro A10-7350B quad-core chip.

The laptop supports up to 16GB of storage and HP will offer hard drive and solid state storage options. The EliteBook 725G2 supports Windows 7 and later as well as FreeDOS and HP will offer a choice of a 1366 x 768 pixel or 1920 x 1080 pixel screen.

There are 26Whr and 46Whr battery options.

The EliteBook 725 should be available in June for $799 and up.

HP EliteBook 745 G2

Need a bigger screen? The HP EliteBook 745 G2 is basically the same laptop in a larger case and with a 14 inch screen.

There are a few benefits to choosing the bigger model though. While the same processor and storage options are available, the HP EliteBook 745G is available with a few more options.

You can configure the notebook with a 1366 x 768 pixel, 1600 x 900 pixel, or 1920 x 1080 pixel screen. It has 3 USB 3.0 ports, and there are options for 24Whr and 50Whr batteries as well as an optional secondary battery in the form of a 60Whr slice that you can attach to the bottom of the notebook.

The HP EliteBook 745 G2 measures 13.3″ x 9.3″ x 0.8″ and weighs 3.5 pounds, although touchscreen models are a little thicker and heavier.

HP plans to offer the EliteBook 745 G2 this month for $739 and up.

Step up to the 15.6 inch model and you get… pretty much the same features as the 14 inch model, although for some reason I see no mention of an optional slice battery or a 1600 x 900 pixel display in the spec sheets.

This model measures 14.8″ x  10″ x 0.85″ and weighs  about 4.4 pounds.

Like the other models its available with up to 16GB of RAM, hard drive and SSD options, and a choice of AMD A6 through A10 Kaveri chips.

THe HP EliteBook 755 G2 should be available this month for $749 and up.
