There’s no avoiding the fact that Google Glass is geeky. You’re essentially strapping a wearable camera and computer to your face. But now that Google offers Glass with frames for prescription lenses, it looks a little less crazy. After all, you’re already wearing something on your face… why not add a camera and display?
Google’s fleshing out its range of frames with some new models from fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg. They don’t hide the geeky bits, but they do look a bit more… fashionable, I guess.
The new DVF | Made for Glass collection frames will be available Net-A-Porter and the Google Glass shop starting June 23rd.
The collection includes 5 new frames and 8 new shades, and it joins existing options such as the Google Glass Titanium Collection. But while Titanium collection frames are basically free (for now) with the purchase of Glass for $1500, the DVF collection sunglasses with Glass will run $1620 and prescription lenses will cost $1725.
