Acer’s been offering a line of Android smartphones for the past few years, but they’re not easy to find in the United States. Now it looks like the recently announced Acer Liquid E700 could be headed to the US.

The phone showed up at the FCC this week, sporting support for AT&T and T-Mobile’s wireless networks.

The Acer Liquid E700 features a 5 inch, 720p display, a MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a microSD card slot.

It has an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera and a 3500mAh battery which Acer says is good for up to 24 hours of talk time or 12 hours of video playback.

The phone will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat, and there’s an international version of the phone that supports up to 3 SIM cards at once, allowing you to not only use the phone on multiple networks, but to have separate SIM cards for work and personal use.

It’s unlikely that the tri-SIM version of the phone will come to America, where multi-SIM phones aren’t as common as in other markets. But aside from the rather big battery, the tri-SIM feature is probably the most unusual thing about the international version of this phone.

  1. Wonder what they’ll charge for this? Seems like it’s in the Motorola Moto G price range…

    1. The Moto G LTE ($219) is the current price/performance benchmark (King) so any new phone should get compared to it. I think because the Acer Liquid E700 (also an LTE phone) has 16 GB storage built in it will be more expensive than the Moto G LTE which only has 8 GB. It also has an 8 Mp rear camera vs Moto G’s 5 Mp. The Moto G’s front camera is 1.3 Mp and the Liquid’s is 2 Mp. Also, the Acer has 2 GB of RAM vs the Moto’s 1 GB. Because of these spec differences, I’d hazard a guess of $249-275 (maybe even up to $299). Personally, I like the chances this Acer model has for I’d be tempted to buy this phone instead of the Moto G LTE one (it also has a user replaceable battery and the Moto G does not.)

  2. It’d be even more special if Acer actually honored the GPL and released a MTK kernel…
