Good news everyone! One of the most popular, critically acclaimed PC games of the last decade is coming to Android. There’s just one catch: while it’ll be available from the Google Play Store next week, at launch it’ll only officially support the NVIDIA Shield handheld game console.

Still, there’s one more reason to buy NVIDIA’s $200 game system than there used to be… soon it’ll support Portal.

  1. I’m SO happy fanlesstech is back online. I had just set it as my home page a few months ago and was so sad when I heard it was going offline. Thank you Brad for helping out. I’m also a longtime reader of liliputing, so this niche is happening right now. Just got my fanless J1900n and loving it! Fanless silence baby. Thanks guys. Keep up the good work.

      1. Wow. That’s wrong of Google. How did they get that idea? FanlessTech is a great site.

        1. The site’s hosted on Google’s free Blogger service, and it seems like it was mistakenly flagged by some sort of automatic review. All I did was nudge a contact at Google to see if there was anything we could do… looks like there was.

I’m glad I was able to help, although Olivier deserves most of the credit for running a great site. To be on the safe side, he’s probably going to migrate from Blogger to a self-hosted WordPress site or something else that he has more control over so that this doesn’t ever happen again.

  2. Many thanks for whatever you did to rescue FanlessTech. You both have great sites!

  3. I read the whole article in Professor Farnwotrhs voice. Also this means we have an android compatible source engine, right? This should make HalfLife2 and TeamFortress2 within an arm’s reach for Android as well! Welp, for the rest of you at least, I’m already playing Portal 2 on my Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet! Also TES:Oblivion. 😛

  4. Wait you can get a shield for $100 bucks? Where I see it for $200 everywhere

  5. “Still, there’s one more reason to buy NVIDIA’s $100 game system than there used to be… soon it’ll support Portal.” this must be a typo, right? The shield is now on sale for $100?
