As promised, Acer is unveiling its first wearable device. The Liquid Leap is a wearable fitness tracker and smartwatch. And as expected, Acer has no plans to sell it as a standalone device. Instead it’ll be offered along with the Acer Liquid Jade smartphone in select markets.

Acer Liquid Leap

The Liquid Leap has a 1 inch touchscreen display, a rubber wristband, and the ability to track steps, gauge the distance you’ve walked or run, measure sleep quality, and estimate calories burned.

You can also use the Leap to control music playback on the Liquid Jade phone or view phone or SMS messages without pulling out your phone.

The fitness band will come in black, white, aquamarine, pink, or orange, and it has an IPX7 waterproof rating, Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, and up to 7 days of abttery life.

Acer’s Liquid Jade smartphone, meanwhile, has a 5 inch HD IPS display, a MediaTek MT6582 quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, Android 4.4 KitKat software, and a 13MP camera.

Both the phone and the fitness tracker are due out this summer in select markets… and the US isn’t expected to be one of those markets.
