Lenovo isn’t the only company with an 8.3 inch tablet aimed at professionals. German company introduced an Intel Atom-powered enterprise tablet with some impressive specs earlier this year.
It’s called the InCover One and the tablet features a full HD display, support for Windows, Android, or Linux, a waterproof and dustproof case, and a removable battery, among other features.
Since this tablet is designed for use by professionals in construction, medicine, and other environments where the device could take a beating, it’s designed to withstand halls from up to a meter — or 1.8 meters if you get an optional MIL case), and it has screw holes on the back that you can use to attach hand straps or other accessories.
Those features also suggest that this tablet won’t show up on retail store shelves anytime soon — if you want to find out the price you need to make an contact TQ. But if tablets like the upcoming Asus ME176 show what we can expect from cheap tablets with Intel Bay Trail chips, Â devices like the InCover One show what’s possible from a high-end tablet with the same processor.
The TQ InCover One’s features include:
- Intel Atom quad-core Bay Trail-T CPU
- 8.3 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel display
- Capacitive multitouch panel with support for both glove and digital pen input
- 2GB RAM
- 64GB storage (Also available with 32GB and 128GB options)
- WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS, and optional 3G or 4G
- 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera
- μSDXC card slot (up to 2TB)
- Docking connector with support for HDMI and USB 3.0
- Up to 10 hours of battery life
- Removable battery
- IP65 rugged case
- Windows 8.1, Android 4.4, and Linux support
TQ offers models with Intel Atom Z3745 and Atom Z3746 Bay Trail processors.
Optional accessories include secondary battery packs, docking stations with Ethernet, USB, and HDMI, hand straps, and a MIL spec cover.
The tablet measures 9″ x 5.9″ x 0.49″ and weighs 1.1 pounds.
This. And then they ruin it with 2GB of RAM…
Will this be sold outside of Germany through local retailers? If so, is the US included?
You can buy it probably from anywhere, but the price is horrible. I think the tablet is rebranded this one: https://www.aavamobile.com/en/products/inari-en
It is available worldwide with different brand names. You can get an idea about it’s price here: https://www.macomp.com/companion-ava.asp
