Samsung’s new octa-core Chrome OS laptops are now available for pre-order for $320 and up. The notebooks should start shipping in late April.
Update: Make that late May.
The Samsung Chromebook 2 is powered by an 8-core Samsung Exynos 5 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. It comes in two models. For $320 you can get one with an 11.6 inch display, while $400 buys you a 13.3 inch model.
The extra money for the 13.3 inch model also gets you a faster CPU, a higher-resolution display, and a few other perks. But that model is also a bit heavier.

The SOC in the 13.3″ version should be the Exynos 5422 (at least I have never heard of an Exynos 5800)
Samsung says its a 5800… could be a new variant.

I see. Possibly, they have changed numbering since the new Octas can actually run 8 cores simultaneously.
It is in fact more logical to name it 5800 with the 8 cores than 54xx.
The 13.3 inch model is just perfect for $400.. hope to hold one asap..
