April 29th is apparently a good day to launch new products. Acer’s holding an event in New York to reveal it’s new lineup of tablets, notebooks, and more. Samsung is revealing its new smartphone with a built-in zoom lens. And it looks like Apple may be refreshing some of its laptops.
But why wait for official announcements when the internet is full of leaks?

- Leak: More Acer Aspire Switch SW5 3-in-1 tablet photos
It’s likely that one of the devices Acer will launch on the 29th is a multi-mode tablet called the Aspire Switch. - Report: Acer’s first wearable device could be a fitness band

- OnePlus says it’s separate from Oppo Mobile, even thought it shares investors (including Oppo Electronic)
Recent reports have indicated that Chinese smartphone startup OnePlus isn’t so much a startup as a subsidiary of Oppo… but the company’s response is that it’s actually a standalone company. It just happens to be fully funded by the same company behind Oppo. It’s looking for new investors though. [GizChina]
- Report: New MacBook Air models could launch April 29th
Don’t expect a Retina display or any other major changes though. It looks like this time around we’ll see a minor spec bump with newer Intel Haswell chips. [9to5Mac]
- Report: Nokia/Microsoft “Superman” will have a 5MP front-facing camera
While this would hardly be the first smartphone with a front-facing camera with a relatively high pixel count, the feature would make it stand out from other devices running Microsoft’s mobile operating system. [The Verge]
