The LG G Watch is expected to be one of the first smartwatches powered by Google’s Android Wear platform. LG has already said that the watch would be available by this summer. Now the folks at Pocket Lint have confirmed that it’s due out before July and that it’ll sell for £180 in the UK.

That’s about $300 US, which means the new watch could sell for the same price as a Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch… or less. UK prices for consumer electronics tend to be a bit higher than US prices.

The G Watch is a bit bigger than Samsung’s smartwatch, but it’s about the same rectangular shape and it’ll support changeable wristbands.

LG’s smartwatch will use Google’s wearable software to display notifications from your phone, allow you to search the internet, ask questions, make appointments, or perform other actions using a combination of touchscreen gestures and voice commands.

Motorola is also working on an Android Wear watch called the Moto 360, and it’s also expected to launch in the coming months. Motorola hasn’t said anything about the price for its upcoming smartwatch.
