When you buy a movie which uses Ultraviolet DRM, you can also use Flixster to unlock your movie and stream it over the internet.
Now Flixster has added support for Google Chromecast, which means you can use the mobile app to stream trailers and full-length movies to your TV using Google’s $35 media streamer.
Ultraviolet is designed as a sort of buy one, play anywhere system. When you buy a supported movie on Blu-ray, for instance, you may get a license to stream it using Flixster or another Ultraviolet service. Like most DRM systems, it can be kind of a headache to use — especially if you plan to download a video and want to transfer it to a different device.
But now that Flixster supports Chromecast, there are at least two ways to use a Chromecast to watch Ultraviolet videos: Using the official Flixster or Vudu apps for Android or iOS.
