Chinese tablet maker Ramos is introducing its first 8 inch Windows tablet. The Ramos i8 Pro has an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and runs Windows 8.1 software.
Those specs should be familiar to anyone who’s seen Windows tablets from Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, Asus, and others in recent months. But Ramos is a company better known for offering cheap Android devices than Windows tablets. It’s interesting to see the company entering the low-cost Windows tablet space.
Ramos also recently introduced a 10 inch Windows tablet called the Ramos i10 Pro.
The new Ramos i8 Pro features a 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display, an Intel Atom Z3740 quad-core processor, front and rear cameras, a microSD card slot, WiFi, and Bluetooth.
In fact, there’s already a Ramos i8 tablet available for under $200, but it’s an Android tablet with an Intel Atom Z2580 processor. The Pro model will have a more powerful CPU and the full Windows operating system… but it’ll also likely have a somewhat higher price tag.
